08 Elmer's Scotty

Elmer designed and built an engine named "Scotty". This engine uses a scotch yoke to translate the reciprocating motion of the piston to the rotary motion of the output shaft. George Carlson liked the engine design, but wanted more power, so he designed a similar engine he call the "Double Scotch". Both engines are featured on this page.

Rick Marszalek, aka "Metal Butcher", lives in the Cleverland, Ohio area, and summers in Ontario, Canada. He spends his winter months in his workshop, and his summer months riding motorcycles and jetskis, etc. He is a prolific engine builder, and displays his work on the Home Model Engine Machinist forum.
